Personal log - 12th of June, 2009.
Hallo everyone! Happy Philippine Independence Day to all!
How are all of you there? I reckon you guys are enjoying a nice day off and a nice start to your long weekend!
It's been a month or so since my last blog entry and there has been a lot that has happened since then... This is just going to be a short one compared to my usually "long" blog entries...First off, today at work, we experienced "brown out" or to most people a power outtage. The funny thing is that it wasn't just our company building but it was the whole city of Vianen that was affected by this. It lasted for around 2 hours (12:00 until 14:00). I was very relaxed about the whole thing, and so was my Bangladeshi colleague. I mean, we had other things to do that didn't need power... For the other people, by the 2nd hour, I could see that many of them were already started to get bored... At any rate, this was solved in time. Cause of power outtage? Well, according to our System Administrator, there were road works being done on the A2 (one of the major highways here in NL) and accidentally dug up or struck on the power lines for Vianen... Note that here in NL, the power lines are under the roads and houses and not running above on electric posts like there in the PH...
Secondly, last May 17, our company had a day out at TIWA in Hulhorst, Gelderland (NL) where we had our "sportdag" or sport day! It was a ton of fun, especially since I got a lot of adrenaline rush there from the Quadtrial, the Powerturn (Buggy ride), laser games, and the Highland games... I actually wore a kilt! hehe
Photos of this event can be found here: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=114838&id=670911213&l=4451c39fbdOn May 19th, I met one of my father's cousins, Joey in Amsterdam and it was great talking to him. We also had a nice time seeing Amsterdam by walking around the place.
May 30th was a sunny day and my boyfriend, the Commander, invited me and another Filipina friend to join him on a pre-wedding party of a close friend of his in Amsterdam. It was a party held on a boat which they rented for the couple and we were sailing along the canals of Amsterdam and even further. Truth be told, I've seen more of Amsterdam and the other nearby cities from that boat trip than from any other "touristy" boat trip I'll ever take along the Amsterdam canals...
On June 1 was my boyfriend's Mom's birthday. It was also a national holiday being "tweede pinksterdag" (2nd pentecost day). It was a small party of mostly close family and friends of his parents.
On June 8, on the other hand, was my boyfriend's sister's birthday. Again, it was a small party with only close relatives and friends around with lots of delicious food (especially the pasta pesto!)... For those who are my friends in Facebook, you can see the photos under "Margo's birthday party"...
That's all for now. As for updates for any travel plans this year, I'm actually skipping Ireland or the US or Japan this year. The fact that although the economy is still not quite good and I'm still not assigned to the client makes it difficult to plan things with my vacation days... Anyway, there are plans to go to Italy (Rome) and probably Denmark this year. We'll see... Probably if I still have a lot of vacation days later this year, I'll just probably wing it! hehe I'll keep you all updated with that anyways... Till my next blog...
End log.

I didn't know you already have a boyfriend. I'm really hapy for you! From your blog, I can deduce he's a Dutch national? So, when's the wedding? Hope it will be in the Philippines so we can all attend! It's so wonderful to hear about your escapades there. May the Lord bless and keep you always.
Love and prayers,
Ma'am Kathy
